You start this level at the top of a ladder without the [look] button and with a huge storm raging around you. Don't panic! Turn around and climb down the ladder - there's no immediate danger. At the bottom, turn around and take a quick look around. You're in a garage. There's a few workbenches with stuff on them, a taxi and a slope on which you may be able to see a dying soldier. Approach the slope for a cut scene.
After the cut scene you can pick up the mine detonator that the soldier threw at Lara and also search the workbenches for a handle. Finally, get behind the taxi and pick up a car jack lying on the floor. Now press the red button on the wall near the slope to open the doors at the top and bottom of it. Go through the door at the bottom.
At the end of the short passage there's another door - press [action] to kick it open and a soldier will probably rush straight through. Kill him and then go outside. There is another soldier at the far end of this street on the right, just beyond the palm tree. Take him out and note the barricades down the street nearby - this is another entrance to the Trenches level and we'll go through soon enough!
For now, collect the Uzi clips under the balcony supported by columns and return to the garage. Go up the slope and crawl into the crawlspace beyond the door for a large medikit. Crawl back out and climb up the ladder on the wall. Go along the corridor at the top and take a diagonal standing jump from the ledge to grab hold of the bars on the ceiling. Monkey swing to the right until you drop off the bars onto a ledge.
Go through the crawlspace on your right and enter the small room beyond. You get a cutaway view of the roof showing a grate as you enter, but you may find it confusing! climb onto the block in the corner and stand near the low stone wall. Combine the car jack body and the handle to make a car jack and use it at the wall to force open the grate in the ceiling. Climb through and onto the roof.
Massive bolts of lightning are striking a plate a little way away from you - it doesn't move around but don't get too close. Go onto the low step to the left of the lightning pad, where you get eaten by a swarm of locusts, and then walk round to the left to get behind the lightning pad. Here you'll find two small metal boxes and a truck in an alcove.
Pull the metal box near the lightning pad away from it and then walk round the box and push it into the alcove opposite the lightning pad. Pull the truck out of it's alcove and then go around it and push it onto the lightning pad. This lowers the pad and causes the lightning to go looking for something else to strike. In a cut scene, you see it strike the end of a metal bridge nearby, destroying half of it.
Exit the area behind the lightning pad and go looking for that bridge. When you find it, take a running jump from the broken end to the ladder on the wall opposite. Climb around a couple of corners to the left until you reach a ledge and drop onto it. Turn around and take a diagonal standing jump to the walkway with slate covered sloping walls ahead of you on the right.
Run down the walkway and around the corner to find Secret #1 - a large medikit, poison arrows and flash grenades, along with a swarm of locusts. Return the way you came, taking a running jump to the flat ledge from the gently sloping roof at the end of the walkway. Climb into the opening to the left of the ladder.
Turn around and drop backwards onto a slope. Grab the edge of this as you slide off and then let go to fall safely onto another slope and into a corridor. Follow the corridor and go down either of the two wide wooden ramps into a large open space with some crates. You can't do anything with the crates yet, so go down the slope in the corner near the wide wooden ramps to find the headless corpse of Saida. Retrieve the mine position data from near his body and return to the open area.
Run to the low ledge in the corner near two large crates and wait. A huge armoured bull (remember him?) will shortly appear but you're safe on the ledge. Unfortunately you need to entice the bull to break all three large crates to retrieve flares, a small medikit and Uzi clips. The bull will likely break one of the crates near the low ledge without your help but the other two will need Lara standing nearby in order to attract the bull.
You need to play bullfighter once more to find the exit from this area. Unfortunately the camera deserts you but you need to stand Lara in front of the three smaller stacked cases on the other corner ledge and attract the bull to smash them out of the way. Then you can climb on the ledge and head through the opening to a ramp that leads up to a balcony around the bullring.
Note the strange reappearance of the crates in the room below and then go through the doorway under the jagged hole in the wall on your left. Slide down the ramp to find yourself in the Trenches level. Go through the narrow opening ahead and carry on past the palm tree and down the road to the slope leading to the two sets of steps that you drove the motorbike up not too long ago.
Climb the left hand stairs and continue on to the sand pile. You can now scramble onto a small ledge at the base of the sand pile and from there do a forwards jump to grab the edge of the ledge higher up. Haul up and climb the ladder ahead to return to the Street Bazaar level. Exit the garage through the door at the bottom of the ramp and head through the corridor and along to the left hand end of the street beyond. Go around the corner to the left and towards the barricades to enter the Trenches level (again!).
Combine the mine detonator body and the mine position data and head to the end of the walkway. Use the mine detonator here to blow up the mines (you have to be at the end of the walkway for it to work). Take a standing jump over the barricades and push the red button on the opposite wall to open a door around the corner. It's your trusty motorbike! Retrieve the bike and drive it through the door and round to the left where there's a soldier to run over. Drive up the hill to re-enter the Citadel Gates level.
When you get control of Lara back dismount and have a look around. Ahead of you is a couple of slopes with a set of barricades at the top of the far one. Beyond this is an - unseen - deep pit that you need to jump over. You need a long run up, even when using the nitro boost, so start at the base of the hill where you entered the level and bear right as you smash through those barricades.
You'll probably land on a steep slope at the bottom of an unclimbable wall. Don't let go of the throttle or you'll slide into the deep pit! Manouevre the bike around so that you're driving parallel to the wall and then drive along the steep slope to safety. Turn left below the ledge with the crashed taxi and run over two crocodiles.
You're now at the end of the long street on the far side of the dragon square from Sgt Azizus. Remember that there is a very nasty swarm of locusts along this route near the dragin square and don't be shy of using nitro boost to cross the square under the dragons' nose. In fact, if you don't crash, the locusts will be your main source of trouble.
Approach Sgt Azizus on the motorbike for a cut scene: Lara ferries the soldier to the explosives truck on the bike and carries him to the ledge. Here Azizus regains enough strength to send Lara away and drive the truck into the Dragon's pit, destroying it (and the motorbike) and himself in a huge explosion. As Lara enters the Citadel she salutes the bravery of the man.
