Return to the lovely room with the pool and the shrubbery and jump into the pool below the fountain. Swim through the small underwater passage to a room where you can climb out and reach into the niche to operate a mechnism. This lowers a ortion of floor elsewhere in the complex. Swim back out to the pool with the fountain and climb out of the water.
Cross the room and go through either of the doors under the balcony. Follow the hallway to where it narrows just before the concealed spikes. Combine the mechanical scarab and the winding key and use this while standing on the tiles that paint a beetle symbol on the floor (stand just behind the big black dot). The scarab will head down the corridor activating the spikes as it goes and making them safe for you.
Pick up the scarab after you've gone past the spiked floor and head on to a small room with two doors. The door on the left with the hieroglyphics has a ramp leading up to a small room. There's a scissor blade trap in the doorway, so get through quickly and push open the lid of the large box by pressing [action]. Lara retrieves the right gauntlet of the armour of Horus. A skeleton also rises up from the floor on the right - blast it and exit the room past the scissor blades.
Now go through the door on the left. The hallway ends in a 'T' with closed double doors ahead and another skeleton lurking on the right. Don't waste explosive arrows on this - run down the hall to the left, jump over the small pool and blast the skeleton into the pool with the shotgun when it approaches you.
At both ends of the 'T' junction (beyond the pool and where the skeleton came from) there are hallways with concealed spikes in the floor. You don't want to go beyond the small pool as you'll miss a secret, so head for the other corridor and use the mechanical scarab to deactivate the spiked floor, as before.
Beyond this spiked hallway is a staircase with two columns at the top and a small room off to the right. Enter the small room carefully to avoid the scissor blade trap and open the box to get some wideshot shells, ordinary shells and a large medikit. Deal with the skeleton that rises out of the floor and then exit the room, go right up the stairs and then down the stairs on the other side to a room with huge, square columns and lots of exits.
Explore the room and open the stone box to get a small medikit. Before long a golden bird will fly in from the hallway where you entered. Shoot it down, dodging around to avoid it getting too close. Go through the hallway to the left of the stone box until you come to a small room with two spike trapped hallways leading to the left and right. Just before the intersection there's a short stairscase leading to a room with a receptacle.
Use the mechanical scarab to deactivate the spikes in the right hand hallway of the two. This is you last throw with this device - try and use it again and it will explode! Follow the scarab to Secret #1 - a box containing several boxes of shells, explosive arrows and a small medikit. Return all the way back to the room with the huge square pillars.
Follow the hall on the right with the hieroglyphs and painted birds on the walls. Note the small, closed door to your right and continue on to a room with the L-shaped pit in the corner that you lowered earlier on. Drop into the pit and shoot the hollow bench in the raised alcove to get some explosive arrows. Take a standing jump-grab from the alcove to exit the pit.
Approach the high black switch in the doorway ahead on the left side. A skeleton appears nearby and is easily blown into the pit with the shotgun. Now jump up to the switch and grab it to pull it down, raising a block to your right and opening the double doors to your left (which lead into the main room). Climb onto the block and take a standing jump to grab the crevice opposite the barred window. Traverse a long way along this crevicem around several corners, until you reach a section high enough to pull up into.
Shoot the bench to get a quiver of arrows. Go up the ramp to another small room with a scissor blade trap in the doorway. Open the box here to get the right greave of the armour of Horus. A skeleton will materialise nearby to be blown away or knocked into the small pool. Exit and return down the ramp.
Don't drop down into the corridor on the left - return along the greenery lined hallway to the room with the barred window and L-shaped pit. Go past the pit to the hall beyond and enter the room on the left (where the raised door was closed earlier). Get the Pharos Pillar (listed as a knot in the inventory!) from the box and shoot the hollow benches to obtain a large medikit and arrows. Exit the room and head left to return to the room with the huge columns.
Take the second left out of that room and follow the hall to the short set of steps leading up to the room with the receptacle for the Pharos Pillar. Use it to open the nearby door. Enter the room beyond and pick up the small medikit from the low pedestal nearest the entrance. Magic begins to happen and as a helix of light swirls around Lara a golden statue of her is created on the pedestal opposite.
Climb onto the block against the left hand wall of the room. Jump to grab the slats in the roof and monkey swing to the other side of the room. Drop and go forward a few steps before turning round and climbing through the opening to the next level up. When you exit the alcove up here a golden bird flys out from the opposite corner of the room. Take it out.
Cross the walkway to the middle and take a running jump to the walkway on the left. Head right and climb into a raised alcove. Follow the slope to a room with a cushioned bench and a sleeping skeleton. Both are diversions - the real action is taking place in the room outside: another golden bird is attacking the golden statue of Lara and the real girl is taking damage!
Head outside quickly (waking the skeleton in the process), take out the skeleton and then let loose on the bird with a couple of well aimed arrows. Shooting the statue by mistake will make Lara lose even more health...
When the fuss has died down you can discover that the cushioned bench is empty and then cast your eyes about the room from the central platform. There are three closed doors on three sides of the room. A cushioned bench in one corner contains a large medikit and you need to be careful when jumping around the platforms as the blocks suspended from the ceiling can get in Lara's way. Note that both these blocks have black switches on the sides facing the central platform.
You need to pull both switches in any order. Take a standing jump-grab from the central platform to the switch and expect a slight loss of health from the drop down to the lower level platform. When you operate the switch on the right (facing the wall without a door), a third golden bird arrives to attack the Lara statue. This one flies around less than the previous ones, so your accuracy needs to be good...
Return to the higher level after switching each switch. With both done, you'll find that two of the three previously shut doors are open. Jump over to each and grab the goodies out of the niches inside the alcoves, noting the sleeping skeleton in one of them (it's easily blown over the platform edge).
Jump back to the central platform and then over to the third door. Combine the two artefacts you've just found (the Hathor Effigy and the Ornate Handle to form the Portal Guardian. Place this on the ornate pole to the left of the closed door and it will open. Enter the hallway beyond and kill the skeleton that materialises. Shoot the hollow bench nearby to get some Uzi clips. The room beyond is the Throne Room - head into it.
In a cut scene, Lara is clearly in some awe of the mighty Egyptian queen and wanders rather gingerly through the room before failing to resist the urge to sit upon her throne. Perhaps it's the feminine touch, or perhaps her timing is just plain out, but this action causes two Guardians to appear through side doors...
The Guardians lay down a lot of blue energy bolts (thankfully only one at a time) but the bolts are slow and can be dodged, whilst the Guardians themselves don't move much. Pump lots of ammo (pistols, Uzis and shotgun) into them one after the other, whilst leaping around the room and you should be able to deal with them without too much danger. Uze medikits as necessary!
When both Guardians are dead, head into their alcoves and retrieve the left greave and the breast plate of the armour of Horus (one item from each alcove, in the stone boxes). Taking both items opens a trapdoor near the throne. Drop in, go around the corner and down the stairs into the dark to end the level.
