A goods yard on the outskirts of Alexandria. Lara is stiff from her journey on the train - loosen those muscles by jogging through the area with the posters on the walls to a dark corner at the foot of a set of steps leading up to the left. If you've been jogging with guns at the ready you'll have noticed that Lara senses danger - there's two scorpions in the gloom!
When the scorpions aredead, pick up the small medikit and run up the stairs to the street. This is one entrance of square in Alexandria. If you're timing is right you'll enter the square and see a thug run from behind the fountain to an alley on your right. Don't follow him immediately - have a look around first.
The building on Lara's immediate right has a black door that we'll open later. Across the square is a large building with columns across the front - this is the frontage to Jean-Yves residence and we'll be calling in later too. For now, head down the right hand side of the square to the alley where the thug disappeared. Just beyond the entrance of this alley is an open door on the left - head in here, weapons raised...
It's full of boxes. There's also three bad guys in robes who jump out at you while you explore. When the room has been made safe, exit back out into the alley and return to the square. Pause by the fountain and look back at the building to the right of the alley. High up on the left of the door is a switch that's too high to jump to - remember it!
Head towards the columns of Jean-Yves' building, but before trying his door, head to the left and go down the alley around the corner. You'll find a motorbike in a locked metal cage down here and, nearby, is a box of shells. Return to Jean-Yves front door and press [action] to open it. Go up the two flights of stairs to Jean-Yves study.
Jean-Yves is surprised but pleased to see Lara, having thought her trapped forever in the tombs or - worse! - killed by Von Croy. He persuades Lara to continue the quest. When the pep talk is over, pick up the shotgun shells lying on the floor between the two library shelves on the right and then head for the little chest of drawers by the entrance and pick up a laser sight, arrows and more shells.
Head out of the room to the balcony and go left. You'll probably find yourself being shot at by at least one bad guy on the balcony opposite - jump the gap and take the hitman out. He has a partner who may be along the walkway to your left, if you haven't seen him before. Pick up the Uzi clips dropped by the sniper to the left.
Return to the corner of this balcony (opposite Jean-Yves balcony) and go a little way down the right hand walkway. Lara will now be opposite the roof of the building with the switch set into the wall. Take a running jump across the gap and grab hold of the edge of the tiled roof of this building.
shimmy right and go around the corner. Line up with the wall switch and drop and grab it as you fall to the ground. Now go to the door of the building and press [action] to open it. Kill the bad guy inside and then head to the Secret area at the back of the room (which you just opened) and pick up a large medikit and 2 quivers of arrows.
Exit and return to the alley that you went into at the start of this level. This time, head pas the open door and bear left (taking out another bad guy and picking up the small medikit he drops) to the end of the alley. Note that, once you've killed the final bad guy, you can return to Jean-Yves for another clue. Whether you do or not, the level ends as you continue down the path...
