Check out the area where you begin. Near the start of the level there is an overhang with a pack of bats. Once they've flown, there's a poison dragon in the trees and after despatching that you can climb up into the room above and collect the ammo. Note the closed wooden door in the dark corner and return to the ground below. As you approach the cliff edge around a rocky outcrop, another dragon appears from beneath the ledge of the gorge. Climb down the pillars. Take a step back from the edge and stand and jump to the central block. From there, you can jump and grab the distant rocks. Shimmy right and climb to the ledge and onto the block.
Leap to the gentle slope further on and then make a couple of small jumps to find a switch. Push it and return to the bat cave near the start. You'll now find that the trapdoor is open and there is a pool below with a kayak in it. Jump in and start paddling if you don't want to pick up two of the three secrets. Paddle here.
Return to the edge of the gorge where you killed the second dragon. Make the crossing again and this time shimmy to the left. You can hang, then drop and grab the ledge below. Pick up the save crystal and press the switch to open the trapdoor. Climb up through it and look up at the rocky roof to see the vines. Grab them and monkey swing across across the gorge. Follow the tricky trail along the shore and jump past the steep slope to the slope near the opening. Grab the edge as you slide off and shimmy to safety.
Climb up and enter the next room and slide down the slope opposite the locked gate. Hang, drop, and jump from the ledge to backflip over the razor grass. When you crawl into the space to the right, a green dragon comes out.Reverse quickly, kill it and go back in. Collect the Save Crystal from the dead end, and watch for a lurking dragon on the way back.
Clean up the stairway back through the crawl space and push the button to open the sealed door back in the room above. Return there by using the climbable walls to the left of the razor grass. Secret #1 Behind the waterfall, collect the ammo from floor level and then return to the waterfall ledge. Jump, grab and monkey-swing to the ledge above the slope on the right. Now, you have to slide, then jump and grab the tall pillar.
Run and jump across the central pillar to grab the Save Crystal, and continue in that direction. Climb up the next pillar and pick up a small medikit to the left. Turn and exit this section using crawl to avoid the darts. Slide down the slope and monkey swing across the gap to the wooden bridge and pick up the Save Crystal. Return to where you dropped off the monkey swing and grab it again. Monkey swing around to your left (doing a full circle) and drop at the end.
Out of the Secret area, run, jump (slightly to the right), and grab the climbable cliff face. At the top, the next Secret is to your right. Secret #2 Don't head down the tunnel just yet. Backflip from the ledge to the steep slope, and grab the edge when you slide down. Shimmy right and drop to the short platform below. Jump around the corner and then across (and to the right) to the hut entrance. Pick up a rocket and a medikit and return to the wooden platform below the slope you backflipped over.
You now need to make an impossible leap...! Face the rock wall and then turn left to see your landing zone far below you on the other side of the watery channel. Press action to extend your jump a bit as you land and make sure you avoid the overhanging ledge above the wooden platform. Once you've landed safely, climb up and turn right to make the rock climb to the backflip slope again.
Back on the trail, head left past the ledge where you backflip to the secret. Clear out the crocodiles near the Kayak. The switch that opens the gate is in the pool below the corner, beneath the dark water. Practice paddling the kayak in the still water here before going over the waterfall. In the rapids sequence ahead there are red and green trip wires stretched out over the river. Avoid the red ones and go through the green ones.
When in flowing water, use 'reverse steering': to go left aim the kayak to the right and paddle backwards, and vice versa. Paddling backwards reduced Lara's speed - on waterfall sections you need to paddle backwards as much as possible. Avoid contact with the walls as this causes the kayak to move with the flow for a short distance. The best moves in still water are paddling left and right (instead of straight on) and the quick turn using the 'walk' keys.
When you go through the gate from the pool, row backward furiously to slow your descent, and then move backwards into the cove to the right. Fight the current around the perimeter of the lagoon and into the niche with the Save Crystal. Paddle through it to collect it. (This Save Crystal is also collectable if you took the short cut. When taking the short cut, follow the current round the first corner before paddling against it...)
Back in the main river, go over the first falls. Stick to the wall on the right to avoid the big boulder, as well as the red trip line. Around the bend, the current pulls you to the right. Row backwards (against the current) to the green trip line that deactivates the blades. Over the second falls, the current is to the left. Row backwards like a madwoman to keep from getting sucked over the rapids. You should be heading to the right through a screen of vines and into calmer waters.
In the dark cavern, follow the stream around to the right. Negotiate the rapids run by rowing backward to slow yourself and picking your way around the trip lines. There is a green trip line behind you to the left just after you enter the rapids. It switches on a crystal on a rock in the middle of the run. You can exit the run by keeping on the right and navigating around the razor grass to the plug room, but if you keep to the left there is a tricky and steep waterfall with a Save Crystal in the middle of it that you can pick up.
If you headed left you should get your breath back and then paddle left past huge gates on the right and struggle up the left side of the rapids to the plug room.
Removing the huge plug from the bottom of the pool is the main puzzle of the level. Off the plug room, to the left of a whitewater tunnel, is a relatively quiet avenue you should explore. As long as you can keep from banging the walls, you can make it into a large chamber with a bright waterfall. Secret #3 Behind the bright waterfall, paddle back and get the Save Crystal. There are other goodies on the shore which you'll have to get later. Back in the plug room, take the greenish tunnel and steer into a quiet pool to the left of a rough waterfall.
A crocodile and a poison dragon await your frantic exit from the Kayak. Once you settle the score with them, clamber up the steps around the room to the exit overloking the plug room. Jump forward and grab the monkey swing on the roof. Monkey-swing out over the chamber, and time your swings to pass safely by the flaming faces. At the end of the run turn left, swing in the dark to the wall and drop to safety.
Jump to the ledge across the river and claim the Rocket Launcher. Continue up the rock near the weapon. Follow the trail to the chamber with the bright waterfall. Pick up the large medikit on one side of the falls and then you can run, jump, and grab to get the ammo across the falls. Return and double back down the shore from the bright waterfall and climb to the ledge on the left. Climb the rockface and go right to drop onto a ledge. Turn around.
Monkey-swing out to the t-junction, avoiding the fire breather. After you hear the bats chatter, stop moving forward. Pivot left and drop off at the wall. Collect the flares from the left-hand shore and monkey-swing over to the opposite side of the falls. Walk around the corner to the end, and from there jump to the platform opposite. Jump back and grab the wall. Climb and head to the left.
Back on firm land light a flare to find the tunnel entrance. Enter and climb down to the bottom and walk through the spikes to safe ground. Run forward and duck when Lara stops to avoid a boulder. Repeat for the next boulder. Run along the stone bridge and side flip left into a passage to avoid the third boulder. Jump over the flames with care and run forward and duck to avoid the last boulder.
Run and jump to the platform on the right and climb up the rock wall on the left to the crawlspace. Through the crawl space, stand and jump to the central platform, and then run and jump to the ledge beyond. Jump to the next block (with the rope slide). Head for the Save Crystal if you managed to turn it on in the kayak - it's a running jump away from the end of the rock.
Ride the rope slider down. You have to jump off on the entryway ledge, or you'll take a small amount of damage from landing in the room. Drop to the ledge inside and jump across to the textured wall opposite, which turns out to be climbable. Get to the top and clamber over the edge, ready for a dragon ambush from the right. Throw the switch around to the left to pull the plug and then head down the other hallway until a torch lights ahead.
Another dragon comes out to play, so take it out and slide down the slope it appeared from. Return to the Kayak and head down the drain. You have to ride the edge or you'll take serious damage from the fall into the chamber below. Exit the kayak and kill the crocodile. Beneath the ledge is a switch that opens the exit and releases a pair of crocs into the small pool. Kill them from the safety of the ledge and then head for the exit.
