Antarctica: Antarctica

At least I'm outside, mused Lara as she shivered in an icy wind...

It's cold! Check out Lara's breath and, as you dive for the Desert Eagle ammo in the bay, notice how she rapidly begins freezing to death! It's very tight to pick up the ammo and climb out on the little ice flow - but it can be done! Once you're warmed up, take a running jump-grab to the land leading to the hut.

Follow the coastline past the hut. That's a secret you can't get at for some time. Jump the channel alongside the ship. and climb up the snowy ledge just to the right. Walk up the ledge until you can't go aforward any more and then turn and jump to the ledge on the right. From here you can take a running jump to the flat spot at the top of the steep slope that was in your way.

Jump to the top of the ice bridge. Cross over it (carefully!) and jump into the cave on the right. Ransack the place for a large medikit, flares, a rocket and a Save Crystal. From the cave entrance, jump back to the ice bridge and go down to the left. Continue along the shore parallel to the ship until you reac water. You're going to have to get wet: climb quickly out at the square ledge opposite. Jump in the water once more, and climb out near the bow of the ship.

Head right and climb the cliffs Look for the monkey swing above to guide you in the right direction. Swing to the end of the line and drop to the small ledge below. Jump to the deck of the ship. The entrance on this end of the ship is through a hole in the deck. Check it out. Down below, fight your way to the engine room. To the left of the engine is a switch on the wall. It opens the trapdoor at Lara's feet.

Drop down the trapdoor and follow the hallways, disposing of thugs along the way. Open the door and enter the next room. Look to the right to see a yellow pipe. There's also a hole in the ceiling above. In the direction of the orange pipe, whack the bad guy, take his ammo and drop through the trapdoor nearby. Down below, expect a sneak attack from behind and then climb the ladder and head for the small window. Outside, you can see a boat, the last of Lara's vehicles. Push the button and it falls to the water. Double back and go up through the hole in the ceiling that you noticed earlier.

Hang a right when you come out onto the deck and follow the walkway towards the bow. Jump and grab from the left side of the opening in the rail (to avoid banging your head) towards the opening in the ice. This is Secret #1 - Uzi ammo and a Save Crystal. Return to the ship.

Go to the stern of the ship (where you boat you dropped was hanging from) and stand at the base of the triangular section that was holding the boat. Jump over the apex of the triangle and jump again to land on a snowy ledge. Walk to the left end of this ledge and jump to the triangular flat spot just ahead. Now do a slightly more tricky jump around the corner to the next triangular ledge and walk forward and climb into the small rectangular opening to find a rocket.

Climb out and walk to the edge. Jump to the previous triangular ledge and then climb/slide down to the rectangular ledge at water level. Take a standing jump/grab to land in the boat without getting your feet wet. Pilot the small craft around the ship, near the cliff, and down the waterway past the hut. Pull over to the ledge a short way down the tunnel, and disembark. Climb up the ice ladder inside the cave.

Slide, jump, and grab from the slope to catch a ledge above. Haul up and light a flare. Head to the right. and clamber into a chamber behind an ice wall. This is Secret #2 - a large medikit and grenades. Backtrack through the crawlspace and take the other exit. You'll drop down into the water near the boat. Climb aboard and warm up before piloting the boat a little further down the canal. Try for the flares underwater , using the boat as a diving platform.

Guide the Boat further along the tunnel as it opens up into an area near a water gate. Hop ashore once more, and expect a welcoming committee. Check out the padlocked door to the hut and then go around the back. There's a rocket underwater (you can just see it from the edge of the shore). When you're ready, climb onto the box and monkey-swing along the bars above, being careful at each turn. At the end of the line, the path divides: go to the end of the right-hand branch and drop.

Slide down the little snow drift and head down the snowy tunnel. Watch out for a thug and a husky in the tunnel, and as you enter the camp. Pick up the shotgun shells from behind the building furthest away (past the three empty oil drums). Opposite where you cam in, there's an opening in the side of a building. Proceed with caution and don't forget to pick up the Desert Eagle clips when it's safe to do so.

In the new area, pick up the shells from under the fuel tank and then enter the snowy tunnel beyond the bend in the pipe (don't go down the hole where the pipe goes just yet). This passageway leads to a building guarded by two huskies. Take them out and notice the electric doors that seem to be shorting out. Run through them very carefully and climb the stairs into the office. Two men will defend the place and one will drop a small medikit when you kill him.

Use the button near the desk top open a cupboard nearby, which holds a small medikit. Then search the rest of the rooms and retrieve the crowbar. Expect to be jumped by another RX-Tech thug at this point. Take his shotgun shells and retrace your steps to the outside, taking down another red jacket who is loitering outside.

Go back to the area with the fuel tank on stilts and the follow the dark passage back to the first area of the camp. climb up the leg of the tower here and pull the switch to release a trapdoor in the roof opposite. Use the crowbar to prise open the locked room nearby and jump across to the roof opposite (don't forget to pick up the crowbar after you've used it!).

Use the monkey swing to get to the next roof and then run along the two raised walkways to grab another small medikit from an icy ledge. Return to the trapdoor and drop through. Notice the sign on the wall labelled 'Fuel Supply' - this is how you switch on the fuel to the generators in the next sequence. Use the nearby switch to open the exit and expect a thug to be patrolling the area outside - he's carrying a small medikit.

Follow the pipe from the fuel tank to the hole in the ground. You can drop through the hole to land on the metal pipe bracket and from there you can head through the tunnel using the ice flow in the middle to avoid getting wet. If you do drop in, just swim through to the end quickly and climb out. Climb the ladder at the end to reach the fuel valves room. Arrange the fuel valves to match the pattern on the poster you saw previously: the second and fourth valves need to be switched to green by rotating the wheels nearby.

Pick up the Save Crystal and climb the ladder at the end of this corridor. You'll come out in the generator shed. Go through the door to where the generators are and run around the furthest one to pick up a large medikit. Return to the wall between the two generators and switch the switch to start them up. Exit through the hole in the wall to an area which contains a derelict building. Explore this carefully, particularly when approaching the corpse lying on the floor in the alcove.

Exit the building and check out the ice walls to find a tunnel. This leads to the kennel area: good news! the dogs are penned in - bad news! you need to let them out... use the button on the fence to unleash the first dog and, when the coast is clear, unleash the next two by using the button to their pen. Enter the building using the button next to the door. Expect more door trouble inside. Search the offices to locate the gate control key on a low box and the Uzis in a dark alcove (they'll just be ammo if you already have them). If you took too long to ransack the place, you'll be surprised by a thug. Otherwise you'll meet him outside - the end result should be the same!

When the coast is clear, exit through the dog pens and wheel around to the left to find another ice tunnel. This one has a thug defending the far end. Take him out, but don't ignore the crevasse in the middle of the tunnel! At the other side of the tunnel is a wooden bridge. Down below is a husky guarding some grenades. It's an easy target from up above - use the ladder to grab the grenades and return to the bridge. Continue on and return to the raised fule tank area.

Head left through the dark passage to the first area of the camp and return to the long monkey bar run through the ice tunnel opposite. Do the monkey bar thing all the way back to the gatehouse and go around the front. Didn't foget that crowbar, did you? Use it again now to prise open the door here and enter. Use the key to activate the gate mechanism and then push the button to open the gate. Exit the hut and go around the back to surprise the red jacketed thug who was hoping to surprise you...

Jump into the yellow boat and speed through the gate you just opened and down the channel until you see a ledge with a flag on it. Disembark here and take out the thug who jumps you. Grab the Uzi clips and return to the boat. Park it just a little way back in the channel (about a boats length) and then use it as a diving platform to pick up the hut key from an underwater cave.

Back in the boat, spin around the next corner in the channel and disembark to pick up an easy set of shotgun shells. Now for some fun! Jump back in the boat and speed all the way back to the ship. Jump out of the boat where you can, bearing in mind we're heading for the hut on the shore. Use the hut key to open the hut door and expect an angry dog to attack. When the coast is clear enter the hut for Secret #3 - Uzi clips, flares and a Save Crystal. Now get back in the yellow boat and speed all the way along the channel again, past the gate structure, past the red flag ledge until you reach a dead end.

Park up and get out. Wave goodbye to the boat and climb up the ice blocks. You'll meet armed resistance at the top and again when you begin to treck around the fence heading for the hut at the bottom. Watch out for the deep elevator shaft and run around the hut for a heart to heart with Willard.
