MorphBar is an icon bar for 16 and 32 bit Windows users. Both versions have an easy to configure interface allowing buttons to be added by drag and drop from File Manager or Explorer. Alternatively you can create a button by filling out the details in a straightforward dialog. There is no limit to the number of buttons you can create though you are restricted to the number that you can display on screen at once!Parameters for programs can be embedded in a button definition or you can configure MorphBar to ask you for parameters when you launch the program. The icons displayed on the buttons can be chosen from any icons you may have lying around or you can view and choose from any of the icons embedded within executables or DLL files you have available.
MorphBar also has a command line which can be used to start any programs that you may wish to run without configuring a button for first. Naturally, both the buttons and the command line can be used to launch documents associated with applications as well as the applications themselves.
MorphBar also contains a simple text editor. In the 32 bit version this text editor has all the Rich Text features of the 'WordPad' application that comes with Windows 95 and NT. In the 16 bit version it is restricted to Windows Notepad standard. In the 32 bit version MAPI mail is supported from the editor.
Both versions contain a file manager application that displays a tree view of the selected hard disk. Files can be deleted, copied and moved within the file manager using menus and dialogs or by drag and drop.
MorphBar/16 is no longer in scheduled development but continues to be enthusastically supported. MorphBar/32 is a current product and plans for version 2.0 are well under way.
